Whats a Rock'n'Roll bed? Its a rear bench seat that converts into a bed. The Rock'n'Roll name describes the way you rock and then roll the mechanism from a bench seat into a bed.
A new Rock'n'Roll bed can be supplied and fitted from £500.
What's a Kombi? The same as a microbus or minibus. All different names for the same VW bus we all love. Essentially all VW buses with windows are a VW Kombi. Some however have been converted to Campers. A standard Kombi has two rows of rear seats.
A standard Kombi is cheaper than a similar Camper in the same condition. So if you want to save some money opt for a Kombi. A Rock'n'Roll bed can be fitted easily and cheaply if you want to convert to a Camper. Or if you aren't into camping enjoy the Kombi as it was designed. As a fun family transporter.
Perfect for family picnics, or trips to the beach!
Whats a Westy or Westfalia? Westfalia is the name of the only company officially endorsed by Volkswagen to create a camper. So a Westy or Westfalia is a type of VW camper. Usually with a pop-top and space to sleep 4. Plus a Rock'n'Roll bed as standard.
What's a pop-top? Its an elevating roof that allows you to stand up when the vehicle is stationary. Usually with an additional bed upstairs.
Whats a Doublecab or Crewcab? A commercial vehicle based on the same chassis as a Kombi. Two rows of seats at the front with room for up to six people. With space at the back like a pick-up. My favourite model.
Great fun with space for all your friends/family up front and toys (surf boards/bikes) at the back!
Whats a Singlecab? Simple, the same as a Doublecab but with only one row of seats and therefore a longer pick-up bed at the back.
Whats an Early Bay? The first of the Baywindow Kombis. Built from 1969 until 1972. Characterised by low front indicators and small bumpers. The later model Bays from 1973 onwards have bigger bumpers and front indicators high up beneath the windscreen. A very early bay can de distinguished by oval rear lights like a Split Screen.
